[OFFER] Change starts with us - Blog — Every action we take defines the future we want to build. So help us define it right here on sites like Sharebay. Every sharing transaction is another win for the planet, through building community connections and acting as good stewards of finite resources for the environment to reduce waste, and more of our things ending up in landfills. Every monetary transaction is another vote for more of the same: - More politics and politicians that doesn't care about us - More companies that pretend to care but just want your money and don't really care about us - More wars and territorial disputes - More loneliness and isolation in a world where people have never felt more isolated So change starts with us.. To learn more, visit the How it works tab or click: Sharebay.org/how-it-works Thank you for reading! And enjoy sharing!

[OFFER] Knowledge of how to use Share Points on Sharebay - Blog — Share Points on Sharebay are useful for helping site viewers and members understand where an item or service is located and what it is about. All Share Points display on the Sharebay map and you can filter the map to show just Share Points by unticking all options on the map and ticking 'Share Points'. For example you can use them for providing - - Knowledge of where an item is dropped off to (such as a charity shop or library) - Knowledge of free item or service locations and name of the item or service that anyone you see on your travels is offering (such as items left outside of houses or businesses, free food available at shopping places, and plants growing free to pick food) Listings placed under the Share Points category are also non-transactable listings, but restricting the listing to a higher trust level requirement still restricts who can respond privately to the listing.

[OFFER] *Some tips to help with a successful listing* — - Make your listing description clear and precise. - Make sure your listing photo is as clear as possible or close to the original as possible if an original photo cannot be obtained. - Unclear, blurry, pixelated, and inappropriate photos and descriptions may result in lower responses and possibly facing listing deletion through member reporting or by site admin. - Have a plain background for your listing photo when possible. Grouping items together in one listing may result in fewer appropriate listing responses as the exact item for what the listing is for is less clear. - Mention one item at a time you are offering or requesting per listing, with a separate description and photo for each when possible with the exception of items or parts that belong together. - If a needed part to an item is missing or if there is a fault with an item or a particular part - make sure to state this. This helps site members to see more clearly what items are actually available and what is in working order. If you are requesting something or responding to an offer: - Return any items on loan in good condition and in the time frame requested by the item owner. - Be respectful and mindful of a listing responders' time whilst a transaction is ongoing. Some may take time to get back to you if they're busy. Sharebay will send out automated reminder emails for transactions that still aren't completed. Some things that may also help: - Have a profile picture. - Include as many details about yourself as possible in your profile. But only share what you're comfortable sharing. - Include as many tags in your profile and listings as are appropriate to increase discoverability, and to help site members get to know what you and your listings are about. - Include a receipt in your listing photo as proof of purchase and that the item you're offering is real. Only the transaction details for the items you're sharing need to be visible in your listing photo. Other items not included in your listing on the receipt can be blurred or edited out. Also to be aware of: - Make sure you have permission from the owner of the item to share it. - If a member wishes to send you money or requests money for an item outside of Sharebay's payment system or a member posts a link to you, be wary. Even if the link looks familiar, it could be a scammer. - Posts featuring or promoting violence or pornography will be removed and the user posting the listing risks account removal. - Gifting pets to other members is permitted on Sharebay, but if users feel a particular post is inappropriate, multiple user reports will result in the listing being removed and the listing account holder investigated by an admin. Sharebay's philosophy: Sharebay is very much community driven, not admin driven. We are the space holders for a better future. You are the ones that drive it forward. Crafted with love, we as its stewards see the site as yours, and how you use the site guides its policy and development direction. As admins, we only want to remove posts that are not appropriate for the sharing community, and to help further the direction towards the commons of shared information, good stewardship of our planet, its resources, and our communities. But as site members, please report any profiles and member listings you feel are not a good fit for the site. With your help, we will create a more sharing, compassionate, and caring world. Thank you for reading and good luck with your listings!

[OFFER] Help growing food! Seeds, advice, tomato plants... — I'm offering my help as a grower! I've loved plants all my life and I grew up in the garden alongside my mom, where she grew most of the produce we ate. I believe nature is fantastically abundant, and there is no good reason for there not to be plenty of free healthy food for everyone. We just moved in but we will be starting a large Community Garden here. :) In the meantime, I'm offering growing advice, seeds, tomato plants, and even vermiculture advice/worms for starting a compost!
